Sadi Carnot



Born in 1837 in Limoges (High-Vienna), small son of Lazare Carnot. Died in 1894 in Lyon, buried in the crypt of the Pantheon (Paris).

Political life :
President of the Republic of December 8, 1887 to June 25, 1894.

1889 - Anniversary of centenaire of the French revolution.

1891 - Incidents of Fourmies for the 8 hours day.
1892 - Law on the child work (10h per day for - the 16 years and 12h for - 18 years).

1893 - Lawsuit of the Company of Panama.
         - Protectorate on Laos.
1894 - June 24, the President of the Republic is stabbed in his Daumont by Santo Caserio, an anarchist. The President dies in the early morning.
