A green bronze statue represents today the saint man, in front of the cathedral of the Major, the open hands as a sign of prayer. But the Marseillais invented, starting from this attitude, the expression: " to arrive like Belsunce ", i.e. empty hands, in somebody which one is the guest. Or even, " goes to Belsunce ", with somebody who asks us something and whom one does not want to give him.
The statue of Mgr Belsunce was moved many times. It summer set up on the round not in front of the cathedral, places of the Major. Then, with work of the tunnel of the careenage, it was moved in the enclosure of the cathedral, in front of the square. It was again moved on the with dimensions one. Let us hope that one day it can find the place which is due for him.
