Under Louis XII, the capacity of the king is reinforced. It makes take part advisers in its decisions and shows very concerned its notoriety. Louis XII is a popular king and is called the Father of the people.

Louis was born on June 27 1462 in Blois, Fils of Charles of Orleans and Marie de Clèves.
With his birth, his/her father is 67 years old. He is educated by Louis XI, and this without care.
In 1476, Louis XI obliges Louis to marry Jeanne de France, his daughter junior.

Charles dies into 1498, without having of child. Louis of Orleans is declared king de France on April 8 1498. Become Louis XII, it will continue the work of Charles VIII, in particular by continuing this great Italian dream.
In September 1504 and October 1505, Louis XII signs the treaties of Blois in which it gives up in his claims in Italy. Moreover it gives the Milanese, Genoa, Burgundy and Brittany with his Claude daughter. The latter is promised in marriage to Charles de Habsbourg, the future Charles Quint.
At the time of the States General of 1506 in Tours, Louis XII reacts by cancelling engagement of his daughter in favour of François of Angouleme, the François future 1er.

In 1514, Louis XII become widowed, sign the treaty of London as a sign of peace with England. It marries then the girl of king d' Angleterre, Marie.

Louis XII dies three months later, January 1 1515. He is buried in Saint Denis, with Anne of Brittany. Of its first marriage, only two girls survive. Claude of France which is married in François of Angouleme, had a presentiment of for the crown (François 1er). Renee as for it will become duchess of Ferrare.
