The maritime pine, which pushes there preferably today, was introduced there only at the beginning of XIXe century; one saw there in the past the umbrella pine providing these pinions which remain at the base of the exquisite pastry making of Aix-en-Provence (in particular famous calissons), and also the oak, and these gasolines which one finds today only in the forest of Sainte-Baume. |
