In Provence, the Command chooses Richerenches to found its first commandery: it is most beautiful which you can see in Provence.
This small village was worked since XIIe century in the heart of the fortress templière.

At the service of this faith, the Large Master, who controlled the Command since the Temple of Jerusalem, had set up formidable and powerful organization while being based on the commanderies which were established in all Europe.
The commandery of Richerenches was the first link of Provence. It produced the resources necessary to the monk-soldiers during their glorious forwardings.

This highly sophisticated farm was specialized in the production of the destriers: these powerful horses which achieved the way to Jerusalem, and without which the knights templiers could not have been distinguished so valiantly with the combat.

In 1307, Philippe the Beautiful one, showing the command of corruption and wanting to adapt the richnesses of them, ordered the arrest of 138 templiers and made pressure on the pope Clément V, who pronounced the dissolution of the Temple (April 3 1312).
