Display recruitment for Waffen-SSUnit of combat organized in the party Nazi in 1925 and subjected to the direction of SA, then personal guard of Adolf Hitler; he became the most powerful group under the direction of Heinrich Himmler since 1929. Hitler could thus crush the power of Ernst Röhm and his SA in 1934.
Units SS were in charge of the monitoring and management with the concentration camps: they thus appear among the principal persons in charge of terror. The SS organized the destruction of the Jews and worked out a project in order to expel the Slavic people their territories, called " general plan for the East ". From 1940, the SS took the name of Waffen-SS, troop of special elite, located above Wehrmacht; they defended an extreme ideology.
The SS were declared organization criminal with the lawsuit of Nuremberg in 1946.
