The first text relating to the sanctuary is in small the cartulaire Marseilles abbey of Saint-Victor: It is an act by which the abbot Guillaume d' Aligno authorizes, in 1214, a certain Master Pierre, a priest of Accoules, to build a vault on the hill of the Guard, property of its abbey.

" In the name of God... us Guillaume, by the divine mercy abbot of Marseilles, we give you and let us concede you in you, main Pierre, the hill which dominates our monastery, called the Guard, so that you y built a church as well as the buildings necessary to you and this church and that you can make a garden there, or a vine or all other culture that it will be possible for you... "

Bell-tower of the church of Our-Lady of Accoules
Built in XIe century, the church of Our-Lady of Accoules was destroyed with the Revolution, in 1795, on command of Fréron, to have been used as den with the communal sections, only the bell-tower which one can see today was saved. The church is Daviel place beside the Hotel God and of the old Law courts (Daviel Palate).
