En 1977 le général écrira au recteur de N-D de la Garde :
" Ma conviction profonde est que les Marseillais ont dû leur libération si rapide à leur Bonne Mère. Je n'ai été avec mes soldats que l'instrument providentiel de cette libération, c'est elle qui a tout fait. Je l'ai dit alors et je le redis plus que jamais ".
In 1977 the General will write to the vice-chancellor ND Guard:
" My major conviction is that the Marseillais owed their so fast release to their Good Mother. I was with my soldiers only the providential instrument of this release, it is it which did everything. I said it then and I repeat it more than ever ".
